Calaveras Literarias/Literary Calaveras: Analyzing Culture and Writing through a Critical Pedagogical Lens

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Literary Calaveras are satirical poems written during the cultural celebration of Day of the Dead. The style is a popular vernacular, randy inventiveness, or irreverent lightness that entertains, while critiques a victim’s characteristic flaw. These creative poems encourage critical consciousness. Participants will develop procedural strategies to then execute a Literary Calavera.
